History Of Grace Be Unto You

Pastor William Chancy grew up in south central Los Angeles, California.

He gave his life to God at the age of 6. At the time he didn’t know if God and Jesus were the same.
At that young age he felt neither God nor Jesus cared about him. He thought there were two different people.

At the age of 16 he left his parent’s home and went into the world. He took a job to support himself and graduated from high school in Pomona, California.
Soon William became involved in the occult in the hopes of achieving power, fame, money and love. His fascination with the occult lasted for years and eventually led him to console his pain with alcohol, drugs and sexual affairs. The constant turmoil in his life affected those he loved - his three sons and their mother left him.

During this time William had turned his back on all things Holy and declared himself an atheist. He continued in his downward spiral of drugs, sex and no God until 1985 – when our Lord got his attention by knocking him off his horse.

(WHAT HAPPENED? This is a KEY part of how he turned from the evil of his ways to the Lord.)
He gave his life to the Lord in 1985 and in 1989 God sent him out into the streets to “Preach the Gospel to the poor, tell them about Jesus Christ” and to start Grace Be Unto You Outreach Church.
William, now Pastor William, walked the same streets of Pomona where he grew up ministering to the people he just separated from: gang members, drug dealers and those involved in the occult.
He continued his service to God on the streets of California until 1992 (??) when he was guided to continue his calling on the streets of Colorado Springs.

Pastor William reaches out to the poor, the abandoned, the abused, those without self-esteem, the helpless and the lost. He has worked for God since 1989 and has never faltered in his duties to God.
Pastor William together with Grace Be Unto You Outreach Church follows the instructions of God:

Matthew 25:35-36, 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,”

Pastor William preaches the gospel wherever God opens the door: county jails, department of corrections, homeless shelters, rescue missions, and anywhere people have lost hope.

Are you hungry for the Lord? Are you thirsty for the Word? Are you lost?
